Description:
The ball comes from an annual tradition celebrating the arrival of the Galanodel family around year 596. In order to foment the brotherhood between all Corvis people, family Galanodel, not only celebrate and dance, but also organizes and pays a series of events all over the city.
These events take place in form of games, performances and parades, often accompanied by groups of acrobats performing feats of human physics such as the human pyramid, or the spectacular exercise called "flight of the descendant". In this famous exercise an acrobat descends by a cord, tended from a tall tower to the city council with the purpose of giving an offering to the mayor. Also actors guised in bright colours, and raised on stilts can be seen walking trough of the channels with the boatmen. Another popular game is "Catch a Goose" in which they hung gooses of the balconies and the people jump to try to take them.
But without a doubt, the most important event is the ball, taking place in the manor of the Galanodel family. Nobles and political influential persona spend the day in the estate participating in games and exhibitions in the morning, a great banquet at noon, and performances of local artists in the evening.
The evening sees all these people attend the ball with a grand firework highlight at midnight.
The lands of the family are decorated with the colours of the Galanodel family (leaf of green creeper on golden field) using pennants, banners and carpets. The servants, dressed in their best clothes with the colours of the family, are ready to receive the illustrious guests, who are arriving in their vehicles. The guests are then received one by one by the announced Duchess and her husband.
There is an equestrian exhibition in charge of the riders of the Real School of Taming of Cygnar.
While awaiting the banquets the guests are entertained by outdoors games, a stroll on the extensive property of the mansion, or by playing diverse games of chance in the ample halls the mansion.
The banquet consists of the best maritime food available in the kingdoms and richly provided fine wines from the families vineyards.
