Corvis Ghostwalk

Organiser: The Corvis Historical Society - Dedicated to keeping the history of Corvis alive (or undead as the case may be).

Description: As Corvis has been dubbed with the dubious nickname "The City of Ghosts," the Corvis Historical Society has organized a tour of "haunt sites" throughout the city in an effort to keep alive the city's rich history.

Each site on the tour highlights a specific ghost sighted over the years at that location. Through the ghost's own words (as artfully crafted by the Corvis Historical Society's own Arnald Quinn, Historian) guests will learn the history surrounding the tragedy that befell the ghost as well as that ghost's haunting history.

A few highlights from the tour:

  • Wailing Wendy - Learn what caused the tragedy that drives her apparition to cry mournfully as it shambles along the riverfront in winter.
  • "The Noise" - Hear "The Noise", a collection of bone-chilling and unidentifiable sounds in the limestone quarry on the city's edge. Listen to a Corvis Historical Society docent explain the theories surrounding this most unusual ghost.
  • Bloody Andrew - Learn what drove him to murder ten women on Founding Day fifty years ago.

These ghosts and many more will greet you during the walking tour. We hope that this tour will give visitors and residents alike a better understanding of some of Corvis's long, but less-known history.

Agenda: Ghostwalk begins at sunset on Founding Day from the Corvis Historical Society's assembly hall. Patrons are requested to check all weapons at home (or check them with the courteous Corvis Historical Society staff). Two well-trained bodyguards will escort each five-strong group of guests during the Ghostwalk. A Corvis Historical Society docent who can answer questions about the city's history will also accompany all groups. Groups leave every half hour until midnight.

Each "ghost stop" takes between five and ten minutes of viewing time as the "ghost" will demonstrate its most commonly witnessed manifestations and then give its own oral history to the group. In total, more than 10 spirits (ranging from the funny to the frightening) will be visited on the tour. The entire tour takes a little over two hours to complete and ends back at the Corvis Historical Society. Refreshments will be served.

Social crowd: Visitors to and residents of Corvis who are looking for something unique and off the beaten path as far as entertainment goes during Founding Day celebrations may find Ghostwalk of interest. Tickets are 2 coppers a person. Come for a Ghostwalk, it's a scream.

The Corvis Ghostwalk provides ample opportunities for players to explore some of the less common sights of the city. Whether it is working as a docent for the CHS, as bodyguards on the walk itself, or even performing as one of the "ghosts" on the walking tour players will find plenty of opportunities for adventure other than simply being tour guests. For the DM so inclined, the Ghostwalk can provide an opportunity to introduce a real ghost to the players as they encounter it instead of the actor hired to play its part. There are even rumours that the CHS also provides "upgraded" tours for the Corvis elite and members of academia where the goal is to actually find a ghost.
