The Eldritch Borealis

Organiser: The event is a new one, taken on and organized by the nearest chapter of Gunmages who's leader is Devon Galeforge or 'Firebrand', as he is more aptly known as in the military circles.

Description:
Before the festivities, he and the local Gunmages have worked long hours to craft large rune cannon shot, creating the equivalent of eldritch fireworks each with its own special payload as well as additional little surprises to catch the eye.

Of course, what would a show be without letting the town become involved, and so the day before a few Gunmages will set out into the city talking to children to "deputize" them as honorary Gunmages for the day's festivities to help light the spectacular display.

In the centre of the square cannons are set up containing the rune cast shot, as well as a Gunmage and "deputy" to fire off the wondrous rounds.  Each shot will contain a variety of magic, from sizzling fiery orbs to lightning arcs and flashes of lights; booming thunderclaps and the occasional sparkle and prismatic flare to accompany them all.

Agenda: Over the course of the day the cannons will be wheeled into the square and roped off to keep idle hands away. The young ones who will serve in the performance are shown where to stand, how to fire the cannons, and of course given their own official coat and hat to mark them as this years deputies.

Once it gets dark the call will be sent out, informing all the light show is about to commence. The show itself will not begin until around 7 at night to give all ample time to arrive as well as to let the sky darken enough for the fireworks to be fully enjoyed.

Social Crowd: All are welcome to enjoy the display, though children and their parents are the most likely to attend, allowing the little ones to "ooooh" and "aaaaaah" at the bright flashes and booming reports.   Firebrand and crew hope that all who wish to attend the show shall do so.  At the square all are equal to the flashes and awe of the show.
