Blazing Balls

Organiser: Zatharin "Blaze" Kaldazar
A retired mercenary mage, known for his fire magic. An injury at the metallic hands of a Warjack stopped his career, since the wound somehow blocked his abilities to work magic. In sheer defiance he opened a junkyard where people could deposit wrecked Steamjacks. Through the funds he got from this, he started doing weird things with the remains which ended in the game known as 'Blazing Balls'.

Description:

Zatharin paid his way into getting one of the large fields near the market square put at his disposal. Here he and his 'junkyard' crew toiled for days to put the hulls of four old Steamjacks into place in each corner of the field. All the 'jacks have several holes in them, and are in very, very bad shape. Then they are all filled with a volatile liquid, and left to soak.

And so now the day has come up, for them to be used. The game is really a simple one: Four teams of ten 'players' start in a corner. They will all wear the colour of the Jack they're 'defending' (Black, white, red and green). The game is played with balls soaked in a flameable liquid and in each hole of the 'jacks a small fire is lit.The objective is to kick the ball through these holes. Only one ball is in play at any given time. Once it goes into a 'jack, it ignites part of the volatile liquid. If enough liquid is ignited, the steamjack will go up in flames. The last team to have a Jack standing, wins.

The game is not overly safe, and the contestants, who join by 'first come first served', are all expected to wear protective gear, much like padded armor, that is quite difficult to ignite. Anything that is not obviously violent is allowed, meaning that accidents happen, and that they can mean injuries.

The prize, for the winning team, is a substantial sum of money and the bragging rights of having won the game.

Agenda:
At midmorning, the enrolling procedure begins, and anyone over the age of 18 can join. Soldiers are prohibited though, to make the competition 'fair'.

Once the roster is full, a game time will be announced, no later than mid-afternoon though. Entrance is free as all the prize money, as well as the funding for the game itself, is supplied by Zatharin, meaning that as many people as can pack themselves in and around the game area can watch . at their own risk, of course. A large fence has been erected around the target 'jacks though.

Social crowd: This game targets mostly young adult males, even though anyone who likes action, mild violence and competition would likely find the game both fun and entertaining to watch. There will also be food stalls around, where spectators can buy 'wrecked food', ordinary meals that has been prepared so they look 'broken', in correspondence with the 'jacks being demolished.
