The Brightest Ball

The Sunbright family organises a ball every year on Founding Day. It's one of the social musts (but then again, Founding Day has a lot of those).

What's going on?

The Sunbright family organises a ball every year on Founding Day. It's one of the social musts (but then again, Founding Day has a lot of those).

Around 7 o'clock guests arrive at the Sunbright estate and are welcomed by the family. The main ballroom looks out over a street where a carnival passes around 8 o' clock. A couple of wagons in the Carnival are provided by the Sunbright Family and are an opportunity to impress guests. (Some of the guests also sponsor a wagon and this leads to amusing talks and gentlemen `s bets.)

As the evening sets in there is a grand dance ball (outside if the weather is suitable).
The whole day is an opportunity to impress others and rise in social standing or perhaps make a good business deal. Marriages and year contracts have been known to be arranged on this evening.

Who is doing it?

The Sunbright family.

Agenda

Reception in the garden of the Sunbright Estate starts around 18.30. Arrive too early or too late and you'll make a bad impression.

From about 19.30 the crowd goes to the main ballroom inside to have a buffet and overlook the carnival that passes at 8 o' clock.

Depending on the weather there is a grand ball outside featuring dancing (duh) and a lot of high etiquette social "warfare".

The Crowd

Apart from the servants this is a VIC only ball (Very Important Corvian). Invitations only.
