The
Scrutator's Mask
|
 |
|
 |
Will the characters be able to withstand the seduction of a Satyxis female? |
|
 |
|
A beautiful black-haired woman approaches
one of the male PCs, offering the chance of work.
He stands awestruck by her beauty as she tells him
to meet her at the Satyxis Wench, a notorious tavern
on the harbour side of Five Fingers. Almost unable
to resist, he either follows her immediately, or brings
the rest of the PCs to the tavern.
The beautiful woman is at a table,
with three others, but now she has one additional
feature to her beautiful face: Satyx horns. She wants
the PCs to get a 'certain chest' for her: she gives
them the description, and says that there is a Scrutator's
Mask in it - something she'd like to get her hands
on.
"Back here in four days."
She offers five priceless Satyx black pearls as a
reward, something practically impossible to get and
worth over a thousand crowns each. She also promises
a 'token of safe passage among the Satyx' for each
of them, should they succeed.

the Mask and NPCs]
- The PCs discover, or are told
by the Satyxis, that the chest is on a steamship
in the harbour, but there's one problem: it's the
Black Cygnus of the Royal Cygnaran Navy. And the
chest - covered with blue leather and with a golden
Swan embossed on the top - is obviously military
property. There is an agent of the CRS (Cygnaran
Reconnaissance Service, the spy network of Cygnar)
who wants them captured for what they know, and
what they intended to do.
- The PCs choose to inform the
Cygnarans. The CRS agent ropes them into transporting
the chest up the river to Corvis for the Fraternal
Order, with a combination of threats of 'wanted'
posters all over Cygnar and promises of a large
reward.
- A Menite Scrutator is in Five
Fingers, incognito, visiting the faithful there.
He confronts the PCs (either before or after they
get the Mask), and demands they hand over the Mask,
"Or face the wrath of the Lawgiver! That item
was stolen from the faithful, and it shall be returned!"
