The party are members of a band of
brigands operating from Ord along and over the border
with Khador. Hailing from a poor, backward village,
the party is resulting to theft out of poverty and
thus they rob travellers on a road most used by smugglers
and travellers with ill intend to and from Khador
in the area of Murio. One day they stumble upon a
traveller coming from Khador who turns out to be rather
sly and quick with both swords and wit. What the players
won't know is that he turns out to be a member of
the 'Unseen Hand', at the moment in the service of
the Bandit King of Ord.
- The 'spy' gets away and tells
the appropriate authorities about the band of brigands
and their capabilities. Shortly thereafter they
are chased by a group of people quite intend to
capture them and either enroll them in the king’s
service or put them behind bars. With their knowledge
of the border regions of Khador they can be quite
a valuable asset to the king's authorities. Capture
will therefore result in either imprisonment or
a service in scouting the border regions for the
king.
- The 'spy' gets stripped of anything
he has, including some vital information or item
meant for the Bandit King of Ord. With this, the
party can get on the good side of either the Bandit
King's authorities, or those in Khador whom will
be quite happy if the gained information or item
stays on their side of the border. Of course the
'Unseen Hand' won't be quite so happy to see some
minor brigands compromise their commission and will
take appropriate measures to safeguard their integrity.
- The 'spy' is surprised at the
capability of the party and attempts to get them
to work with him. After bringing some valuable information
or item to the king or his authorities, they get
introduced to the 'Unseen Hand' and are commissioned
to work for the Bandit King, getting valuable information
or items from Khador.
