The Caspian Railway Society, the Steam & Iron Workers Union in conjunction with the Fraternal Order of Wizardry have just completed work on the most advanced steam engine in all of Immoren: The Caspian Express. The completion of this engine during a time of war marks a great moment in Cygnaran history, and declares to all that Cygnar will not be held back by the tides of war. This engine commemorates the spirit of Cygnar, and a large celebration is planned for its inaugural run. The first annual Rynnish Hold'em Rail Tournament is to be held as the train travels Orven to Caspia.
Many nobles, royalty, and high ranking military officials are planning on attending the function. With an entry fee of 200 towers not many will be able to buy one of the 32 seats in the tournament.
Fees will be placed in the Train's Safe Car which will eventually be used to transport highly classified royal and military secrets all over Cygnar. The safe is impenetrable boasts the Fraternal Order who's top members built the safe.
The second and third place winners will walk away with 1500 Towers each, the first place winner will claim 2000 Towers and attend a dinner with King Leto himself.
Security will be very important, and King Leto has dispatched two units of Sword Knights, and a unit of Gunmages to make sure that nothing goes wrong. The crown is looking for some members of the security detail that are unaffiliated with the official Cygnaran Military. Perhaps there is a group of adventurers with the right connections to get the job?
- The Khadorans see the train’s commemoration as a vulgar display of Cygnaran arrogance, and plan to take full advantage of the opportunity they have been presented. An assassin has taken the place of one of the nobles and assumed his identity. He plans on leaving the Cygnaran dogs in pools of their own blood by the time the train reaches Caspia. Of course he has brought a small entourage to help him in his quest.
- 6400 Towers, and who knows what other riches in the Safe Car? Sounds like quite the score for a daring party of adventurers. Of course there are the 30 or so armed Cygnarans to worry about but that just makes it more fun! The only question is do we steal under the cover of night, or under the guise of a noble?
- Murder mystery. Many of the nobles playing at the tables are more than opponents in poker. Many are competing for power, land, resources, or secret loves. When nobles start dying as the train draws closer to Caspia, it is up to the party to discern the killer before he strikes again.
