During a rest and relaxation period in Five Fingers, the PCs are invited to meet with an old friend or relative.
- Little do they know that their old buddy has sold out to Cryx and part of their his is to provide 'high quality' slaves for the Blackwater Meat Market! The PCs are drugged, mugged, or otherwise taken by Cryxian slavers... and only a severe storm at sea gives them an opportunity to escape.
- The PCs friend is missing from his home and a note is left in place. It seems that he has run afoul of one of the High Captains regarding some outstanding debts. If the PCs don't find a way to pay off or otherwise placate the crime lord, their friend is destined for a lifetime of slavery.
- The friend has since become an agent for the Order of Illumination and is in Five Fingers now to investigate the existence of the Chapel of the Dark Twin. During the investigation, the agent has discovered evidence of a necromantic cabal affiliated with a local merchant house.
