Pitch

The PCs are visiting a local tavern. Here they overhear a conversation of some locals about an ancient artefact located in the old ruin just outside of town. The PC's set out to find the artefact...

After some dungeon delving they finally find it: an ancient book or sword or... . (Make sure there is a 'big arrow' pointing towards the treasure so PCs will surely take it).

Upon touching the artefact there is a magical explosion. The PCs get knocked down. When they come to their senses they find themselves in a dungeon room lit by torches. When they look closer they are in fact in the same room where they found the artefact. Only now it's not so very old...

The PCs have (for some reason) travelled back in time to the days the Orgoth ruled Western Immoren. They now have to get back to their own time.

Alternatives

  • The PCs try to escape the castle but get caught by the Orgoth. They are either thrown in prison or they have to work the fields with the rest of the people (items and gear get taken). They can always escape. (and retake their items and gear from the Orgoth)
  • The PCs escape the castle without being noticed by the Orgoth. (or by escaping the prison or the fields). Make sure the PCs see the Orgoth Lord with the artefact in his hands (now, if you want you can do some adventures that occur in this time). To get back to their own time they have to get the artefact from the Orgoth Lord and get back to the dungeon where they came from. If they all touch the item they return.
  • The PCs can learn stuff to the people in the past. (eg: regarding steam-powered items if there is an arcane mechanik in the party) When the PCs get back, they might see stuff which they created in the past.
